The 47th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting will be held in Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) from the 7th to the 11th of September, 2016. This annual meeting brings together the leaders of the Pacific Islands Forum to develop collective response to regional priority issues.
The Prime Minister of Tonga, Hon. Samuela ‘Akilisi Pohiva as well as other Heads of Governments and Senior Government Officials from members of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat will be attending the meeting. The theme for this year’s meeting is “Small and Far: Challenges for Growth”.
Tonga’s delegation is led by the Hon. Prime Minister and includes the Hon Minister of Finance and National Planning, Dr. ‘Aisake Valu Eke; the Chief Secretary & Secretary to Cabinet, Dr. Palenitina Langa’oi and Government of Tonga Senior Officials.
Tonga’s delegation will also attend related meetings during the Forum such as the Smaller Islands States Leaders meeting and the Pacific ACP Leaders Meeting.
