Their Majesties, King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau’u attended the ANZAC Day dawn service at the seafront on Tuesday 25th April 2017, in Nuku’alofa.
The Service was also attended by the Crown Prince & Crown Princess, HRH Prince Tupouto’a ‘Ulukakala and Princess Sinaitakala Tuku’aho; HRH Princess Salote Mafile’o Pilolevu Tuita. It was also attended by the Hon Prime Minister, Samuela ‘Akilisi Pohiva and members of the Diplomatic Corps and by guests and Tongans.
ANZAC Day which is also a public holiday in Tonga, commemorates servicemen and women from Australia, New Zealand and Tonga who fought and died 102 years ago in Gallipoli during the First World War.
