“Prime Minister to attend USP Search Committee Meeting on 24 July in Fiji.”

The Prime Minister, Hon. Samuela ‘Akilisi Pohiva, in his capacity as Tonga’s Minister for Education and Training, will be attending a one day meeting of the USP Search Committee to be held at the Tanoa International Hotelin Nadi, Fiji on the 24 July 2015.

The purpose of the meeting is to consider and assess nominations for the USP Pro-Chancellor position that have been received against selection criteria; decide to invite any eligible nominee to meet or communicate with a member of the whole search committee; decide whether to consult any advisor or opt one other non-voting member with specialized skills as necessary and schedule subsequent meetings as required.

The Prime Minister will be accompanied by Dr. Raelyn ‘Esau, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Ministry of Education and Training. The Prime Minister’s attendance is being funded by University of the South Pacific.
