A thanksgiving service for Tonga’s Public Service was held this morning, Friday the 27th of January, 2017 to mark the beginning of a new working year.
The Service started with the Chief Secretary and Secretary for Cabinet, Dr. Palenitina Langa’oi, welcoming the Hon. Prime Minister, Cabinet Minister’s and all public employees to the service. The Thanksgiving prayer was offered by the President of the Church of Tonga, Rev. Dr. Tu’ipulotu Katoanga.
The Hon. Prime Minister, Samuela ‘Akilisi Pohiva, was the Guest of Honour who delivered the main address encouraging public servants to be fastidious and dedicated to their duties as servants of the people.
The vote of thanks was conveyed by the Chief Executive Officer of Health; Dr. Siale ‘Akau’ola.
The service was attended by Cabinet Ministers, members of the Board of Directors for Public Enterprises, CEOs from Government Ministries and Public Enterprises, and employees from Government Ministries and Public Enterprises who were available to attend the service.
